Void Calendar vs Notion
A calendar task is also a page of notes
Notion and Notion Calendar are two separate apps. You can write notes and organize tasks in Notion, then arrange time in Notion Calendar. If you also want another AI tool to manage your schedule, you need to configure the connection and bring those steps together.
When it is time to work, I want the task and its notes in front of me without another search.
In short: If your notes, docs, and shared team pages already live in Notion and you need them on Windows or your phone, Notion plus Notion Calendar is the better fit. If you work on an Apple silicon Mac and want tasks, notes, and the calendar in one app, with an AI of your choice placing work into genuinely free time, try Void Calendar.

Open the task and know where to start
You might reserve two hours for “finish the history assignment.” When the time arrives, you still have to work out where to start. Research or an outline? Where did you put the teacher’s instructions and the sources you found earlier?
In Void Calendar, a task on the calendar has its own note page with the same name. Write the steps beforehand: review the teacher’s instructions, find sources, then make an outline and write the draft. When you return to the task, open it and know how to begin.
A history assignment: reserve the time and keep the steps in its note. Workflow illustration.
Notion Calendar can also link Notion pages and create AI Meeting Notes from an event. Those notes live in Notion, and creating a meeting note opens Notion. The connection exists, but the work still spans two apps. See Notion’s official guide.
Void Calendar keeps the task’s time and content together. You do not have to find the calendar entry, then look elsewhere for its notes.
Keep the mistakes with the task too
The steps you wrote before starting will not always match what happens.
While researching, you might realize you misunderstood an argument or find a better example for the assignment. Record it in the task’s notes, then ask AI to organize it into writing ideas, questions to check, and follow-up tasks.
Next time, you have more than a completed checkbox. You can see how you did the work and which mistakes to avoid repeating.
Turn notes into tasks, then let AI arrange the time
You may collect outlines in Notion: ideas for a course report, a revision plan, or several pages of class notes. After writing them, you still need to extract the work into tasks and decide when to do it.
With Void Calendar, you can convert a note into a task while keeping its content, then ask AI to break down the work and schedule it. A history assignment can become research, outlining, drafting, and checking citations, with sessions arranged around your classes. Review and confirm the proposal to put those tasks on your calendar.
Ideas in your notes can move into action, and the notes you leave while working can help the next task. You do not need to keep copying the same work from notes into tasks and from tasks into a calendar.
Bring the calendars and task lists you already use
Notion Calendar supports Outlook, Apple iCloud, and Google calendars. Void Calendar currently connects Google Calendar and iCloud Calendar, reads Apple Calendar, and syncs both ways with the Apple Reminders lists you choose. Outlook Calendar, Microsoft To Do, Google Tasks, and Todoist connections are planned. See Notion Calendar’s connection guide.
Your class timetable might be in Google Calendar and your assignments in Apple Reminders. Connect that calendar and those Reminders lists, bring in the work, and arrange assignments and revision around your classes. You do not need to copy each item into a new list first.
Keep the recording habits that work for you, and bring those tasks into your daily plan.
Use the AI you already have
Void Calendar can connect directly to AI clients installed and signed in on your computer. Supported clients include Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor CLI, Gemini CLI, Kimi CLI, WorkBuddy, Qwen Code, and GitHub Copilot.
Choose the AI you know and ask it to break down an assignment, plan study time, or organize the notes you left with a task. You can also connect your own model through a custom API.
Notion also offers MCP connections for external AI clients such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to read and update workspace content. Its hosted Claude agents use Notion credits rather than your own Anthropic account. See Notion MCP and hosted Claude agents.
Which one fits
Choose Notion if:
- Your notes, docs, and databases already live in Notion and you edit them with classmates or colleagues.
- You need Windows, iPhone, or Android apps today.
- You mostly want to see your schedule and link Notion pages to it, without AI planning your time.
Choose Void Calendar if:
- You use an Apple silicon Mac and want tasks, notes, and the calendar in one app.
- You want a model you pick to place tasks into free time and ask before changing existing events.
- You want events, tasks, notes, and AI conversations to stay on your own Mac.
I want existing task sources and a familiar AI to stay useful. Once the working material is there, the tool should help me continue.
